We confirm the cash prize of 30.000 euro, the 30.000 copies of catalogues and, overall, the final exhibition in Milan.

The economical crisis has been useful to think about the result of the contest related to the expectations of our participants. We decided to postpone the date to enter it to look at the socio-economical context and work on new key strategies.

We have already joined the arena with the cycle IDEECOSTRUTTIVE (*), hosting those people who play a starring role in the culture and industry of living. Next appointment is scheduled December 21th at the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, in the centre of the city of Milan. We have consolidated our presence in the Net through our webzine “House living and business”. Now, we decided to transform the contest in something completely new: a Network of Ideas where every project will have its own interactive webpage.
We imagined and realized the Interactive Reality ArtShow.

You’re still in time to enter the Ecohousing Art Contest and to be in the middle of a debate, sharing ideas and vibes with all the Net.

For the first time, on Ecohousing Art website we’ll give to every artwork and project a dedicated webpage and, from December 21th, an interactive page. It means that each participant will have a continuous dialogue with the popular jury, as to say people from everywhere that every day, after the registration in the website will be willing to vote, comment and discuss every artwork or project!

AIMS

Ecohousing Art has been created to give birth to economical and cultural relationships between people with ideas and people eager to acquire and develop them: artists and art dealers and curators, designer and companies, architects and engineers, builders and citizens.
To achieve this, Ecohousing Art provided itself with a network of ideas, becoming a forerunner, a website dedicated to creative, cultural and professional information and relationships. Artworks and projects will be the hearts of this Net, with hundreds of users and participants orbiting around them.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE, the website www.ecohousing-art.it

In the website www.ecohousing-art.it participants and people’s jury will share publicly every aspect of the pieces and the projects.

The participant will obtain an userId and a password to access his own 5Mb page that he can use autonomously, inserting images, texts and videos. Through the webpage people will vote him and he will be able to answer the comments.
Popular Jury will receive the userId and the password to vote, comment and acquire pieces and projects from the contest.
Technical jury, composed by over 60 people from the culture and industry of living, will have an institutional role by expressing votes in the subsequent phases of the contest.

The most voted artworks and projects will be shown immediately on the new homepage in two sections: one with their real time ranking and another one with the daily selection, made by the coordinators of the contest. Besides, on the homepage you can see the most recent comments to be aware second by second of the most chatted artworks and projects and of what has been saying about them. All of this in a renewed cool designed version!

ECOHOUSING ART, WHAT IS IT? (dedicated to people who don’t know it yet…)

It’s a contest of Ecoconstructive ideas reserved to junior and senior artists, designers, architects and engineers. Participants will realize artworks and projects to inhabit the spaces into the perspective of an Ecological Living Integration, which means a new balance among men, houses and environment. Because man is at home in the world and the world becomes home inside every man. This is why we would like to conjugate the natural environment and the built one.

It’s a new model of development – economic, social, aesthetic – based on talent and creativity, interdisciplinary planning, communication and exchange among all the individuals: professionals and students ready to play by proposing on-line their ideas; firms and investors looking for new concepts and citizens willing to live in a responsible, satisfying and harmonious way.

Il partecipante riceve userid e password per accedere alla propria pagina web da 5Mb che gestisce autonomamente inserendo immagini, testi e video. Attraverso la pagina web riceve i voti della giuria popolare e risponde ai commenti pubblici che ogni utente registrato può lasciare.
La giuria popolare riceve userid e password per votare, commentare, acquisire opere e progetti a concorso.
La giuria tecnica, composta da oltre 60 protagonisti della cultura e dell’Industria dell’abitare, svolge un ruolo istituzionale che si esprime attraverso votazioni di competenza nelle fasi successive del Concorso.

La nuova homepage mette subito in primo piano opere e progetti attraverso le diverse classifiche proposte sia dal database, aggiornato in tempo reale, che dal coordinamento. Inoltre sono visibili i commenti più recenti che arrivano direttamente dalle pagine delle opere e dei progetti, per sapere sempre quali sono i più chiacchierati del momento e che cosa si dice di loro. Il tutto in una nuova veste grafica intuitiva e glamour!

The artworks and projects must be original and must belong to the author(s) who present them. We reserve the rights to disqualify the author who violates this rule. In the event that the non-compliance emerged afterwards, House Company reserves the right to forfeit any prize awarded (and the author will be obliged to return any amount received), selecting an alternative potential winner.
The participants, by taking part in Ecoconstructive Ideas “work in progress”, “award in progress” and “artshow in progress”, the online phases of “Ecohousing art, artworks and projects to live spaces”, first edition of the national contest “IMMOBILIARE 2012 Prize”, must put in writing the explanation of their poetics and motivations and in any case they retain ownership of all the intellectual and industrial property rights. House Company intends to protect the participants from any material provided that infringes any copyright or any other intellectual property right with the immediate elimination from the contest.

Junior and senior artists, designers, architects and engineers registered as participants in the contest may not register as popular jury members. They are still allowed to join the contest, registering themselves as participants, but in that case the previous registration as members of the jury (not the comments or votes previously expressed) will be canceled.

The Ecohousing Art contest is not bound to follow the October 26th 2001 President of the Republic Decree n. 430 “Regulation about the complete overhaul on contests and local events with or without prizes according to art. 19, comma 4 of the law n. 449 December 27th 1977”. That’s because the aim of the contest is the production of artworks and the prizes are just in compensation for the artist’s work or a personal recognition according to the above mentioned Decree n. 430/2001, art. 6 comma 1, A) and E).

From September 30th 2010 (h. oo.oo) until June 30th 2012 (h 24.00), the participants must upload: author/s, customers portfolio, title, concept and description of the artwork or project, jpg images and descriptions (choosing the main/cover image). They will also be able to upload videos from www.youtube.com and access the administratin page (CMS) to upload and modify the data, checking on the left space (5 megabytes). The participants must upload in their dedicated pages whatever necessary in order to give a complete description of the artwork or project in his dedicated page. Any changes made will be immediately visible.

Artworks and projects must be sent to House Company Srl – Largo Repubblica, 7 – 20057 Vedano al Lambro (MB) – between July 1st and July 15th 2011 by post or hand delivery and the following sentence must appear on the envelope: “Ecohousing Art – IMMOBILIARE 2012 Prize” plus the progressive number the participant was provided with when he completed his registration. For all the deliveries by post, it will matter the dispatch date. Any artwork or project sent beyond the deadline specified won’t be considered.

The registration occurs once a copy of the payment has been faxed to 039 2324894 or emailed to concorso@ecohousing-art.it (that must be done by the seventh day from the online registration). Once the fax has been received, the Administration of the contest will send an email to the artist with his userId and password so he’ll be able to put all the necessary information at www.ecohousing-art.it. After the registration, House Company will provide the participant with a progressive number which must be indicated on all the material sent: artworks, prototypes, models, CDs/DVDs, printouts, project relations, technical information, resume, company presentations, envelope with the registration form and copy of the payment.

For the art section, we request paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, installations, performances, digital art (…) with the following characteristics: free technique and support. Once inserted the final work, the participant must declare the format of the work in centimetres, otherwise it will be excluded. Concerning those artworks difficult to send, we request a minimum of 5 images (pictures) that describe and render the poetics of the work, or a short video on DVD. All the videos must be recorded on not-rewritable DVDs. It is obligatory to provide a data sheet containing the title of the work, the description of materials and techniques used and a description of the poetics.

For the Design section, projects are required to be submitted digitally, on CD or on not-rewritable DVDs, .jpg format (min. 3 plates and max. 10) with all the measures and the details, in front, side, perspective or orthographic views. Then the plates must be printed on paper, at least in A3 format. An illustrated Design Report (in *.PDF plus a binded printout) showing the title of the project. An illustrated data sheet (in *.PDF plus a binded printout). A full-scale or reduced prototype made with any material or, alternatively, 3 photorealistic renderings on not-rewritable discs plus the printouts (at least A3 size). The technical jury, in the selection for the exhibition, likes better the realization of the model.

For the Architecture-Engineering section, the interior or exterior projects are required to be presented digitally, on not-rewritable discs, .jpg format (min. 3 plates, max. 10) with all the measures and the details, planimetric representations or renderings useful to describe the idea of the project. The plates must be printed on paper (min. A3 format). An illustrated Design Report (in *.PDF plus binded printout) with the title of the project. An illustrated data sheet (in *.PDF plus binded printout). A scale model made with any material or, alternatively, 3 photorealistic renderings on not-rewritable discs plus the printouts (min. format A3).
The technical jury, in the selection for the exhibition, likes better the realization of the model.

4.1 Intellectual Property
By registering to the 1st edition of the “ECOHOUSING ART – IMMOBILIARE 2012 Prize” national contest, the participant agrees that his artwork or project is indeed original creation, that he is the author and that it does not violate the rights of any third party proprietary rights.
Furthermore, the participant agrees that House Company Srl has no responsibility in case of any dispute or claim resulting from or in connection with this initiative. He grants House Company Srl permission to use, copy, modify, distribute and publicly display the artworks, prototypes, models and projects, just mentioning his name, for an undetermined period of time, in any place, on any kind of support and with every means (even commercial and promotional purposes) and without any attribution or compensation to him.

4.2 Restitution of the artworks and of the projects
The projects and the artworks, the descriptive materials, the personal data and everything has been sent or given to House Company Srl will not be returned. The artworks, prototypes and models not involved in the show can be picked up (charged to the author) at House Company Srl – Largo Repubblica, 7 – 20057 Vedano al Lambro (MB) between October 15th and 31st 2011. The exhibited artworks, prototypes and models must be picked up at the exhibition venue on the day of the dismantling: the place, date and modality will be communicated to the participants beforehand. The withdrawal is charged to the participant.

4.3 Production and exploitation rights on artworks and projects
Every participant will keep the authorship of his work.
From July 15th 2011 until December 31 st 2011, the participants will be allowed to sell their works through the website. Putting the artworks or projects up for sale is optional. The price is freely determined by the author and the negotiations with the potential buyers will be free and discretionary. Concerning the business relationships and law obligations, all responsibility is to give to  the parties and House Company Srl is excluded from any potential responsibility and liability because House Company will not take part in the negotiation in any way and will not ask any compensation.   It is however obligatory to declare the sale, for the public quote, and the materials must be kept disposable for House Company in the interest of the contest, the art-shows and any other utilisation. After the award ceremony, the participants selected for the catalogues and the exhibition will be free to dispose of their artworks and projects for any initiative or publication, anywhere and in any way, with just the obligation to quote the following formula:

We are building with you, and thanks to you, our wish, that is giving birth to an interdisciplinary lab in which works and projects can stand out and be caught by the country, because we are visionaries and we imagine a future built with the clean energy of your mind and the creative effort of many of you.

Our wish to realize Ecohousing Art gave us the opportunity, and it still does, to know your ideas, to cover a distance together towards the fulfillment of your dreams. Everyday your dreams are getting shaped in the house that we opened for you and that is becoming a place where green ideas co-inhabit: ourselves become part of that universe that conspires in helping you to carry your ideas and projects out.

When we look around us, analysing art, architecture and design, we see that in these contemporary phenomena the objects become subjects of the inhabiting for two simple reasons: on the one hand, the objects carry a bag filled with ideas and energies of lots of creative minds and entrepreneurial spirit; on the other, people are not approaching the objects in a just functional or esthetic or – even worst – compulsive way anymore. It’s going on a true exchange of vibes and a sense of belonging that drive us into the luxury of these objects that we let surround us in our daily routine, in a rediscovery of that forgotten dimension of well-being and living culture.

This transformation, that so deeply (and almost unconsciously) concern all your projects, is an ever-evolving process. We really believe in this process because it shows us the future and, together with a new demand of sustainability, where we are going to.
We decided to postpone the dates of the contest to give more time to every subject involved in the research of those common aims.

We are giving to the participants more time to combine their professional or study duties with Ecohousing Art. The members of the Technical Jury deserve to see all the creative processes and projects that have not been put online yet.

From December the artworks and projects web pages will be more glamorous, easy and amusing to consult.
All the votes already given will be validated.
